The Windmill
A kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor, a double bed on the first floor and another at the top, beside the millstones. Outside, a large courtyard under a pergola.
Studios, apartments and an 1854 windmill, at the highest point of Artemonas on Sifnos.
Windmill Villas is a small group of guest houses around an old windmill that the locals call “Spithas’ Windmill”. It stands on the edge of Artemonas, at the highest point of the village, and it is built so that every accommodation looks out to sea.
From the terraces you can see Kastro, Paros and Antiparos; on the clearest days the view reaches Sikinos and Folegandros. The Spithas family looks after the houses and their guests.

Two bedrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a large terrace overlooking the Aegean. Made for families and friends.
Sixty windmills once turned on Sifnos. Spithas’ Windmill is the largest of them, and today you can stay inside it.
1854
The windmill is built, as the marble plaque above its main door records.
Today
It is a listed building and its machinery is still in place: with its sails back on, the mill could turn again. On the top floor you sleep beside the millstones.
A short walk through the lanes of Artemonas is enough to see its neoclassical mansions, leafy courtyards, hidden chapels and the workshops that make the traditional sweets of Sifnos. Cafés, a bakery and restaurants line the main street and the alleys, a few minutes away on foot.
The Sifnos Cultural Centre, with exhibitions and events mostly in summer, is close by, and so is the bus stop for the rest of the island.
The essentials for a comfortable stay, in every one of our houses.
